How we started.
All this first began when we realized there was a co-worker of ours that needed financial support for bills that had accumulated from one of his children’s illnesses. From there our team had come together to plan for, what was initially supposed to be, a one-time fundraiser to help them. It wasn’t until afterwards that we truly realized the impact charity could have and when we started throwing around the idea of doing this again. When we looked out to our community and found others that could benefit from charity, it was then that we decided to form CGH Charity Foundation with the intention to raise money for financial aid and bring awareness to the many struggles people that we know and work every day with go through.
Where we are now.
We have grown substantially since we first began, and the enormous response we have received from our community was somewhat overwhelming but also humbling. With the need for support there, we have added an additional fundraiser, Softball Showdown, in an effort to expand how many people we help throughout the year. We also have begun to donate to the charities our participants’ have utilized in their struggles as a way to acknowledge and give-back to the ones who share the same hope of aiding those in need of support.
Together we give.
Whether it is your time, financial aid, or any other resource, giving always has a way of transforming us. When you give to CGH Charity it is not just a donation. You are a giving people pieces of time back to focus on what is important in that moment. These moments in time can be anything. Whether that be a moment to relax after an exhausting treatment away from the comforts of home, or a moment to not worry about how that bill will contribute to the mountain of other bills piling up. A moment to splurge after a hard month of battling and constantly worrying about what is to come, or a moment to put all the worries aside and go out on a date with the one you have loved with all your heart. A moment to take your child to their favorite toy store after a hard day, where they had to be stronger than any child should be asked to be. A moment to not have to choose which parent or sibling is left behind while their family is facing one of the most strenuous battles of their life. These moments happen every second of every day and here at CGH Charity we believe that these moments can make a difference to peoples lives; so why shouldn’t we do all we can to make sure they have as many of them as possible? For some, these moments will be there for them to look back on and appreciate but, for others, these moments will have to last the family left behind a lifetime. Whether you are donating or sponsoring, you are contributing to every moment and you can know that you have made a difference, no matter how small, in someone’s life and given them hope.
